Totapuri Mango (Mangifera indica) from India is a widely cultivated commercial mango variety valued for its distinctive beak-shaped tip, firm flesh, and mildly sweet-tangy flavor. Recognized for its medium to large size and high pulp recovery, Totapuri mango is extensively used in processing industries across domestic and international markets. It is a good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and antioxidants, supporting immunity and overall wellness.

Origin & Growing Regions

Totapuri mango is predominantly cultivated in the southern states of India, particularly in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, with additional production in Telangana and parts of Maharashtra. Favorable tropical climates, well-drained soils, and large-scale orchard cultivation contribute to high yields, uniform fruit size, and reliable bulk supply for industrial processing.

Season

Totapuri mango is generally available from May to July, with peak harvest during June, making it one of the key processing mango varieties during India’s mango season.

Uses & Applications

Fresh Consumption: Consumed fresh in certain regional markets, appreciated for its firm texture and mildly tangy taste.
Industrial Processing: Extensively used for mango pulp, purée, concentrates, juice blends, frozen mango products, pickles, and canned mango due to its high pulp content, firm texture, and excellent processing yield.
HoReCa & Culinary Uses: Preferred by food manufacturers, beverage companies, and catering services for large-scale pulp applications, sauces, chutneys, and culinary preparations.
